How to choose your real Christmas trees in Wolverhampton

Real Christmas trees in Wolverhampton are becoming an increasingly popular choice for families looking for that authentic look this festive season.

A fully lit real Christmas tree can be the centrepiece of your decorations and will add a touch of class to your living room.

But if you’re worried about the potential mess an authentic tree could bring, there’s always the option of having a smaller tree outside on your porch or in your front garden so the neighbours and passers-by can see you’re getting into the festive spirit.

Alternatively families with larger properties are choosing to have more than one tree, with different size trees based in different rooms of their home.

You can never have too many Christmas trees, right?

Tips for maintaining Christmas trees in Wolverhampton

The National Christmas Tree Association offers these tips to maintain your tree right through the season –
• Display your tree in a traditional reservoir type stand and water regularly to minimise needle loss
• Use a stand to fit your tree
• Always inspect your lights before adding to the tree and if worn replace before fitting
• Drilling a hole in the base of the trunk doesn’t improve water intake
• Don’t overload electric circuits and turn off your tree lights when going out or to bed
• Never burn any part of your Christmas tree in a wood stove or fireplace
• Check your stand daily to make sure the level of water doesn’t go below the base of the tree

The Big Question: Which Christmas tree for your home in Staffordshire, Shropshire and Wolverhampton?

Before you decide on the size and shape of your tree, you first have to decide which type of tree is for you! Why not try our Norway spruce, which is the epitome of traditional Christmas trees.

Famous for its intoxicating Christmas tree smell it will instantly transport you into the festive spirit and is sure to turn any room into a winter wonderland.

However, if you’ve got pets or small children why not take a look at our Nordmann Fir, this is the most popular type of real tree in the UK. It too looks great, but the fir has non-drop, blunt needles meaning that there’s minimal maintenance, and can be a little safer if there’s little feet around. We also have the option for them to be potted or cut, depending on if you want to keep the tree for a prolonged time of just for the season!

Treat your Christmas trees with care:

Once you’ve decided on your Christmas trees for your home in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire and Shropshire, it’s important that you look after it to keep it looking its best! Here are a few tips to help make sure your cut tree is as jolly as you this Christmas season:

  • Make sure you keep your tree away from direct heat to avoid it drying out.
  • Make sure you place your tree in water as soon as possible, and keep it topped up!
  • Cut a ½ inch thick disk from the base of the tree to help it take in the water.

Now all that’s left for you to do is enjoy decorating it, with your brightest baubles and sparkly lights. Then pile it high with all of your wonderful presents, and be sure to enjoy the centre piece of your Christmas! Light ’em up! – The Right Christmas Trees:

There are two primary contenders when it comes to choosing a Christmas tree: the Fir and the Spruce. Both are excellent candidates, but they each have different criteria to consider.

The Fir is a tree that sheds yearly. They are ideal for a large outdoor display in your garden, or as part of community function. They yearly shedding can make them a rather messy choice for indoors, as the needles will scatter over your floor as they shed.

The Spruce, on the other hand, only sheds once every three-to-four years. Buying a young spruce can be an excellent decision for an indoor display and can be an excellent investment. If you were to buy a young enough Spruce, you could host it indoors on the year of purchase, care outdoors for a year and then (size permitting) bring it for the next year’s Christmas. Once your spruce has outgrown your home (or is on it’s shedding year) it can make an excellent outdoor tree.
